This week:
Welcome to the AMRI roundup, our weekly newsletter to keep you informed on the latest happenings in and beyond our network.
AMRI news:
AMRI welcomes new assistant coordinator Dandan Shen, recently a postdoc from Stockholm University, who will come aboard as we plan content for AMRI fikas, lectures, and AMRI Week, set for end-of-November 2022!
Dandan earned her Ph. D at Leibniz Institute for Baltic Sea Research and University of Rostock, Germany. Her dissertation elucidated the relationships between aquatic bacterial diversity and ecosystem functions using molecular tools, particularly at the Baltic Sea areas, focusing on how bacteria cross marine-freshwater boundaries in terms of genetic and physiological responses to shifting salinity.
At Stockholm University, Dandan worked to develop an approach that accurately detects and quantifies the biodiversity of meiofauna in the Baltic sediments, particularly nematodes as indicator organisms, from the perspectives of field investigation and experiments.
Welcome, Dandan!
