FROM SITES:
SITES has published a new video featuring David Bastviken on the SITES YouTube channel. David is a professor at the Department of Thematic Studies (TEMA), Environmental Change at Linköping University, and his research focuses on biogeochemistry and environmental science. Using the SITES Water infrastructure, David and a team of collaborators have been working to develop new tools to measure carbon dioxide and methane fluxes in complex landscapes.

SITES Water collects key background data on environmental variables including greenhouse gas concentration and flux data with established methods. This data along with the knowledge provided by the staff working at the SITES Water stations provides ideal conditions for the testing of new GHG assessment technology. The goal of this research is to provide high spatial resolution measurements of carbon dioxide and methane fluxes toincrease the accuracy of ecosystem-level estimates of greenhouse gas emissions.
The hyperspectral camera featured in last month's video is one of the new methods for measuring GHG fluxes that has been developed by David's research group. You can find that video here: SITES "Hyperspectral Camera" with Magnus Gålfalk"
