Transnational Access to marine labs in Europe (AssemblePlus)

The EU-funded project ASSEMBLE Plus offers Transnational Access, where researchers and PhD students can apply for support to conduct research at one of more than 32 marine stations distributed over 13 countries. This call gives the opportunity to gain access to a wide array of technologies and services in the fields of marine science. The TA funding covers travel, accommodation, and free-of-charge access to labs, logistic support, and standard consumables for up to 30 days each for up to two researchers per project. It does not cover researcher’s salaries or expensive reagents/analyses. Researchers from both industry and academia can apply for on-site and remote access.

SciLifeLab and BioInnovation Institute (BII) arranges a BII Pitch Day and welcome researchers (from SciLifeLab and other organizations) to pitch their ideas for BII at the SciLifeLab BII pitch day on Nov 15. The purpose is to get feedback and guidance from BII business developers on your idea and to learn if your project could be a fit for their two innovation programmes. Selected projects are given a 30 minute slot between 9 am and 2 pm. The slot should be used for a 15 minute pitch followed by 15 minutes discussion.

BalticWaters2030 Scholarship program for junior researchers

Funds of up to SEK 200,000 can be applied for for equipment, field studies, equipment and travel that are necessary to carry out the research. Salary funds will not be distributed. The scholarship can be awarded a maximum of twice to the same applicant. The foundation intends to distribute a maximum of SEK 1.5 million per year for this purpose.

To promote scientists in Nordic countries that study the ecology and evolution of protists, we will hold a meeting from 10–11 May, 2022 at the Natural History Museum, Oslo. The aims of this meeting are to provide a regional forum for early-career and advanced researchers to present their work, and to establish a Nordic Society of Protistology that will continue to meet and promote protistan research. The organizers for the meeting are Micah Dunthorn (Oslo), Fabien Burki (Uppsala), and Courtney Stairs (Lund).
